Budget Skiing in the USA & Canada
North American skiing has a reputation for being expensive, but there are plenty of affordable alternatives to Vail and Aspen. Small regional mountains in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New England often charge well under half the price of big Rocky Mountain resorts.
In Canada, budget options include smaller mountains in Quebec and Ontario, as well as resorts in the Rockies that offer season pass deals. Sun Peaks, Revelstoke, and Jasper provide excellent terrain at more accessible prices than neighboring Whistler Blackcomb.
For the best value in the US, look at resorts in Colorado's smaller towns (Monarch, Loveland, Eldora), Utah's independent mountains (Snowbasin, Cherry Peak), and New Mexico (Taos Ski Valley, Ski Santa Fe). Many of these offer Epic or Ikon pass access, dramatically cutting the cost-per-day.
