Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood (Oregon) is the only year-round volcanic ski resort, with summer skiing on the Palmer Glacier (June–August in addition to the standard November–May season). Mt. Bachelor in Oregon typically runs until Memorial Day weekend (late May), making it the longest-season standard resort. In the Southern Hemisphere, Whakapapa and Turoa run June–October on Mt. Ruapehu.

Etna has two ski stations on opposite flanks: Etna Sud at Rifugio Sapienza (1,900 m base) above Nicolosi on the south side, and Etna Nord at Piano Provenzana (1,810 m base) above Linguaglossa on the north.
