The Dolomiti Superski (1,200 km of piste for €432) and the Via Lattea (400 km for €273) consistently rank at the top of the value-per-kilometre league. Eastern European resorts (Jasná, Bansko, Kranjska Gora) deliver the lowest absolute prices but smaller ski areas. North American resorts deliver the worst value-per-kilometre because of premium pricing, though the Ikon and Epic Pass multi-resort products dramatically improve their economics if you ski multiple destinations.

Value index = price of 6-day adult peak-week lift pass (in EUR) divided by the resort's published piste kilometres. Lower numbers = better value. The metric is intentionally simple — it does not weight piste quality, snow reliability, lift modernity or off-piste terrain. Use it as a starting filter, not a final answer. North American USD prices are converted at the late-2025 exchange rate of approximately USD 1 = EUR 0.92.

Major US and Canadian destination resorts (Vail, Park City, Aspen, Jackson Hole, Whistler) sell day passes at USD 200–325 in 2026–27 and have largely shifted their economics to the Ikon Pass and Epic Pass season-pass products. Walk-up daily and weekly pricing is deliberately punitive to push customers toward these annual passes. For one week of skiing, North American value is poor; for skiers who plan to use 3+ resorts, an Epic or Ikon pass changes the calculus completely.

Kranjska Gora (Slovenia, €215/6 days), Jasná (Slovakia, €224), Bansko (Bulgaria, €250), and Bardonecchia (Italy, €252) all sit under €260 for a peak-week pass. Lift modernisation in all four has accelerated dramatically since 2018 — Bansko in particular now has Alpine-quality chairlifts and gondolas at half the price.
