For snow quality, yes — February delivers the deepest base depths of the entire winter at almost all destination resorts. Mid-February through early March is the statistical peak snowpack window globally. The challenge is exclusively about timing: peak-week pricing runs 50–95% above January baseline at major destination resorts, while regular February weeks (February 2–12 and February 23–28) carry only 12–35% premiums. The optimal play is to book regular February weeks at major destinations (peak snow + manageable pricing) or to book peak weeks at large-acreage absorbers like Big Sky, Whistler Blackcomb, or Les Trois Vallées where crowd impact is muted.

Three global resorts lead total lift capacity for absorbing peak-week crowds: Les Trois Vallées (France, 156 lifts across 4 linked resorts), Paradiski / Les Arcs–La Plagne (France, 144 lifts), and Espace Killy / Tignes–Val d'Isère (France, 41 lifts but moving 90,000+ skiers per hour). For single-resort lift density, Whistler Blackcomb (37 lifts, 8,171 acres) leads North America. Per-skier capacity ranking based on skiable acres ÷ peak daily visitors: Big Sky 0.65 acres/skier, Revelstoke 0.52, Sun Valley 0.45, Snowbasin 0.42, Marmot Basin 0.38 — all genuinely uncrowded even during peak weeks.
