Saturday changeover traffic in peak season (mid-February, Easter) routinely adds 30–90 minutes to the Geneva–Tarentaise and Chambéry–Tarentaise corridors. Shared-shuttle prices are typical one-way per-adult fares; book return for ~15% discount.
Rail alternatives note the most direct public-transport route. Where a ski-pass-inclusive bus exists (Innsbruck Olympia, Skicircus Saalbach, Davos-Klosters), this is usually the most cost-effective option from airport rail stations.

The Innsbruck Olympia ski pass even includes free shuttle buses from the airport. Salzburg (SZG) is second-best with Zell am See and Saalbach reachable in 60–70 minutes. Geneva-served resorts are popular but generally 70–175 minutes away.

The Eurostar Snow Train and TGV from Paris bypass airports entirely for many French resorts.
Barcelona (BCN) to Baqueira-Beret in the Spanish Pyrenees: 305 km, 4 hours by car. Barcelona to Grandvalira (Andorra) is 220 km / 3 hours 30 min. Geneva to Val d'Isère / Tignes is 175–180 km / nearly 3 hours during Saturday changeover traffic — and can stretch to 4–5 hours in heavy snow chains weather. Zürich to St Moritz is 200 km / 3 hours via the Julier or Bernina passes (closed to large vehicles in extreme conditions).
